I have finally completed my volvo ecr40d excavator review and I hope you will find useful information about the volvo ecr40D excavator. The Volvo EC Series is one of the many Excavator models that are made by Volvo Construction Equipment.

Volvo ECR40D Excavator Specification

The perfect combination of power, stability and digging forces makes the ECR40D the perfect machine for a wide range of tasks. The compact design, with a tail swing radius equal to the width of the tracks, makes it ideal in urban areas with poor access or on confined construction sites. And thanks to its impressive power-to-weight ratio, it delivers outstanding performance in all conditions.

Volvo ECR40D Engine

The Volvo ECR40D is a 3.6-ton short radius hydraulic excavator manufactured by the Volvo Construction Equipment. It belongs to the same family as the ECR50D and EC55C excavators. It comes with a bucket capacity of 0.06 m3 and an engine rated at 24 hp (18 kW). The bucket is attached to the arm by a pin-and-bushing link, which allows the bucket to tilt forwards slightly on its own axis for dump clearance.

The ECR40D uses a Volvo D2.4L engine that produces 24 hp (18 kW) at 2,000 rpm and uses a direct injection system with glow plugs for combustion. The fuel tank has a capacity of 95 liters, while the engine oil volume is 10 liters for diesel engines and 9 liters for gasoline engines.

Volvo ECR40D Hydraulic System

The hydraulic oil tank is equipped with a sight gauge. The sight glass should not be obstructed when checking the fluid level, so that it can be seen clearly from above.

The hydraulic oil level must be checked regularly, at least once an hour. The oil level should be between the MAX and MIN marks on the sight glass. If the oil level is below MIN mark, add Volvo CE Hydraulic Oil until MAX mark is reached.

Do not fill more than 15 mm (0.6 in.) above the MAX mark to allow for expansion of the fluid during warm-up of the oil. The engine must be running when checking or refilling hydraulics.

• hydrostatic pump unit

• load-sensing valve

• cooler unit (main cooler and oil filter)

• power control valve (PCV)

• swivel joint

• control valves for boom, stick and bucket, etc.

• auxiliary valves for various functions, e.g.

Volvo ECR40D Operating Weight

Volvo ECR40D Excavator Operating Weight. The operating weight is an overall weight, including standard equipment, all fluids, a full tank of fuel and the operator.

The Volvo Group is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of trucks, buses, construction equipment and marine and industrial engines under the leading brands Volvo, Renault Trucks, Mack, UD Trucks, Eicher, SDLG, Terex Trucks, Prevost, Nova Bus, UD Bus and Volvo Penta.

Volvo ECR40D Digging Force

The Volvo ECR40D is a compact excavator with a narrow tail swing and reach boom. The machine is available in two different configurations, the Volvo ECR40D short tail swing and the Volvo ECR40D long reach. Both configurations have the same weight, engine power and digging force but differ in their boom length.

The short tail swing is ideal for working in confined spaces while the long reach boom makes it easy to dig far away from the machine, which is helpful when it’s not possible to get close enough to the excavation site. The Volvo ECR40D is powered by a Tier IV Final 3.2-liter diesel engine that produces 40 horsepower (HP). It has an operating weight of 9,811 pounds (4,437 kilograms) and a maximum digging depth of 11 feet 1 inch (3.4 meters).

Volvo ECR40D Bucket Force

The Volvo ECR40D is a 4.4 tonne machine that is powerful and reliable. It is the ideal companion for a wide range of tasks including demolition, landscaping, construction and site preparation. The engine power, combined with the unique hydraulics concept, ensures high performance and productivity in all applications.

The ECR40D uses the innovative Volvo Care Cab to provide excellent visibility and comfortable working conditions for the operator. The cab has compact dimensions, excellent access and easy service points making it possible to work effectively in confined spaces and on smaller sites.

The ECR40D offers superb lifting capacity and reach thanks to its large operating envelope with an arm breakout force of 6.9 tonnes and a bucket tearout force of 7 tonnes. With a maximum digging reach of 7 metres this machine is remarkably versatile.

Volvo ECR40D Dipperstick Force

The dipperstick is made from high-strength steel and has a large cross section, which means it can withstand the forces applied to it. It is available with a variety of tips, including teeth that can be used to break hard materials.

The reinforced base allows the machine to be equipped with tools such as hammers and crushers, while providing sufficient strength when digging with a bucket.

The excavator is also equipped with a parallel lift arm option that allows the use of a wider variety of tools.

The volvo ecr40d excavator is a mining excavator with a long reach boom and a narrow tail swing radius, making it very useful for construction sites that have narrow work spaces in urban environments

The volvo ecr40d excavator is a mining excavator with a long reach boom and a narrow tail swing radius, making it very useful for construction sites that have narrow work spaces in urban environments. The volvo ecr40d excavator is built with a volvo d3.6a t4f turbocharged engine that has been optimized to meet the needs of the machine. This engine produces 36.2 horsepower and provides excellent power to the machine when needed. The ecr40d also has a fuel tank capacity of 19.8 gallons, which allows the machine to work at full capacity for longer periods of time without having to stop to refuel.

The volvo ecr40d excavator is equipped with a control system that makes it very easy for an operator to control the machine and use it in different ways. The layout of this system simplifies the process of an operator controlling the machine by placing all of the controls within easy reach of an operator who is sitting in the cab of the machine. The most important controls are placed on joystick levers located on each side of the seat in the cab so that an operator can easily access them while operating other parts of the machine. This layout also makes it easy for an operator to change between different modes.
